Carolina Classic Fair to include disaster relief collections

In response to the need for disaster assistance in the wake of Hurricane Helene, the Carolina Classic Fair is partnering with local organizations and businesses to collect food and school supplies donations during special days at the fair. Opening Weekend, Oct. 4, 5 and 6: A truck will be located at the main gate to collect much-needed items for storm relief efforts in the North Carolina mountains. Items will be collected from gate opening time until 8 p.m. each of the three days. The Carolina Classic Fair is partnering with the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Department for the collection initiative. The Sheriff’s Department will monitor collections and handle delivery of the items to areas in need. Donations will not result in free admission to the fair. All items will be accepted, but the following are in greatest need: *Water *Baby Formula *Diapers (Baby/Toddler/Adult) *Individually Packaged Snacks *Batteries *Trash Bags *Band Aids *Toothbrushes/Toothpaste *Washcloths/Towels *Socks (All sizes/New) *Dog and Cat Food *Disinfectant Wipes Deer Park® Spring Water School Day, Monday, Oct. 7: Schools supplies will be collected and 75% will be shared with affected areas of the mountain region and 25% will remain in Forsyth County.
