Castries Man Charged For Gun, Ammunition Remanded In Custody

On Sunday, June 9, 2024, about 5:45 p.m., The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force (RSLPF) recovered another illegal weapon and ammunition, one (1) male was arrested. This recovery was made in the Soufrière Port. A team of off-duty police officers were attending a social event, when they noticed a suspicious male; forty-one-year-old (41) Silas Gildas Isidore of La Croix Maingot, Castries, and had cause to conduct a search of his person. The search resulted in the discovery of one (1) Glock 19 firearm, equipped with an auto sear and fifteen (15) rounds of 9mm ammunition. As a result, the suspect was arrested for the offences of Possession of a Firearm and Possession of Ammunition. The Soufriere Police Station took over investigations into this matter and have formally charged Silas Isidore for Possession of Firearm and Possession of Ammunition. Silas Isidore submitted a bail application to the Second District Court today, Wednesday, June 12, 2024. Following his application, and owing to the indictable nature of the charges, the court remanded Silas Isidore into custody.
