Channeling Thaddeus Stevens: Justice in Our Time

With racism as visible as ever, I recently revisited the story of Thaddeus Stevens—a White man who boldly stood for racial justice. It may seem odd to look for White allies to speak out, but their silence speaks volumes. Stevens never stayed silent. Though often overlooked in history, he fought for Black rights until his final breath. Many of us barely heard his name in school, and today’s youth likely know even less. His legacy deserves far more recognition.
