A Chicago father faces murder charges in the death of his 2-month-old son, Kayson Flowers. Detectives allege that Anthony Evans, 23, placed the deceased infant in a stroller to mislead the mother, Kayla Flowers, into believing he was merely napping. Evans was charged with one felony count of “murder – strong probability death/injure” last week, stemming from events in April. On April 28, while in Evans’ care, Kayson was allegedly returned to Kayla as if he were alive, despite having been deceased for hours. When Kayla noticed Kayson’s lifeless body later, she rushed him to a hospital, only to find it was too late. The Cook County Medical Examiner ruled the death a homicide, indicating child abuse.
