The Chicago Sky have suspended Angel Reese for issuing remarks considered “detrimental” toward her teammates. This “organizational decision” to hold Reese out for half a game was announced by coach Tyler Marsh, who emphasized that the call came from the top leadership. Marsh noted, “We are just going to handle it internally, and that’s been the approach.” Following the announcement, the Sky released a statement reaffirming their commitment to player safety and well-being. The statement read, “We are dedicated to accountability so our players can focus on basketball.” As a result of her comments made during league-mandated media, Reese will miss the first half of the September 7 game against the Las Vegas Aces. Recently, Reese received her ninth technical foul and is currently serving a one-game suspension. She previously commented on the need for the team to acquire new talent, particularly stressing that reliance on the recovery of veteran player Courtney Vandersloot is not feasible.
