A three-year-old perished in a house fire at Praslin on Wednesday. The Micoud Fire Station responded with an ambulance and a fire truck after receiving a distress call at about 12:47 pm and found the wooden structure fully engulfed. Fire Chief Ditney Downes said as the firefighters went into action, they learned that a child was missing. After extinguishing the fire, a search for the missing three-year-old ensued. “Due to the extent of the rubble, it took the fire department about an hour and a half to locate the child’s remains,” the Fire Chief told St. Lucia Times. The police and the Saint Lucia Fire Service (SLFS) are investigating the incident. The article Child Perishes In Praslin Fire is from St. Lucia Times.
