The Ciceron Playing Field is embarking on a fresh chapter, thanks to the installation of essential lighting that will enhance evening activities at the facility. Located in the hometown of Saint Lucia's sprint legend Julien Alfred, this sports arena serves as more than just a venue for football; it is a focal point for community growth and social interaction.This development is part of a larger governmental initiative aimed at revitalizing athletic facilities across the island. During the National Sports Awards in February, Youth Development and Sports Minister Kenson Casmir announced plans to upgrade “almost 20 playing fields and courts nationwide,” as part of an $80 million infrastructure program poised to invigorate venues islandwide.Following the lighting installation, Dr. Ernest Hilaire, Parliamentary representative for Castries South, shared insights via social media about the project's significance. He expressed joy at the turnout for the Ciceron Playing Field's re-opening, highlighting the communal effort and dedication of local sportsmen and women.
