City Expands Equity in Cannabis Industry with Three New Dispensary Permits

In an effort to promote fairness within Sacramento's cannabis sector, the City Council has unanimously sanctioned the issuance of three additional storefront dispensary permits, raising the total from 40 to 43. These permits cater to participants of the Cannabis Opportunity Reinvestment and Equity (CORE) initiative, designed to dismantle entry barriers for disadvantaged communities. The timeline for establishing CORE dispensaries was also extended by a year. “Increasing permits for CORE participants fosters equitable opportunities in the cannabis business,” stated Al Romero-Gibu of the Office of Cannabis Management.
