Clinical Trials & Targeted Therapy: How Black Breasties Can Get Access To Better Treatment

Breast cancer is a devastating disease that affects millions of women worldwide. Among the different subtypes, triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) stands out as a particularly aggressive form, posing significant challenges for treatment. Furthermore, evidence suggests that black individuals with TNBC may face additional obstacles when it comes to accessing newer targeted therapies and participating in clinical trials. This disparity in access to cutting-edge treatments not only hampers the prospects of Black women diagnosed with TNBC but also perpetuates healthcare inequality. It is imperative to address this issue and ensure that all breast cancer patients, regardless of their race, have equal access to the best available treatments. The Underrepresentation Of Minority Populations In Clinical Trials One of the key factors contributing to the limited access to targeted therapies for black breast cancer patients is the underrepresentation of minority populations in clinical trials.
