The Birmingham Times reports that the Coca-Cola Amphitheater has earned Sensory Inclusive certification, thanks to a collaboration with KultureCity, a prominent nonprofit advocating for sensory accessibility. This initiative strives to enrich the concert experience for individuals with sensory processing challenges, including those with autism, PTSD, or neurological disorders.
“This collaboration marks the most extensive partnership of its kind in live entertainment, granting fans with sensory processing needs unprecedented access to live music,” stated Uma Srivastava, Executive Director at KultureCity. “Our alliance with Live Nation [the venue's management] allows us to broaden our influence and redefine inclusive environments.”
To accommodate neurodiverse guests, the venue has implemented essential measures, such as training staff to support these individuals effectively and providing sensory bags designed to alleviate overload. The KultureCity app further enables individuals to find these certified venues easily. Fans can explore available resources at no cost during upcoming events.
