On Saturday, NASCAR driver Connor Zilisch revealed via social media that he sustained a collarbone fracture after falling from his vehicle in victory lane. At the time, the Xfinity Series frontrunner had just celebrated his sixth win of the season at Watkins Glen International in New York. While reveling in his achievement by climbing atop the roof of his No. 88 Chevrolet, Zilisch slipped from the driver’s side window. A video shared by Speedway Digest captured his dramatic fall, as he plunged headfirst onto the ground after seemingly entangling his foot in the window netting. NASCAR reported that the 19-year-old was transported to the medical center on a backboard before being admitted to a hospital for further evaluation. He was "awake and alert" during the process. A few hours later, Zilisch updated his followers, expressing gratitude for their support and relief that his head CT scans were clear. However, he confirmed the break to his collarbone. Post-incident, Trackhouse Racing withdrew Zilisch’s No. 87 Chevrolet from the upcoming Cup race. His next Xfinity appearance is scheduled for August 22 at Daytona International Speedway.
