Association House joins long list of ComEd customers who are reducing energy costs and carbon emissions through US EPA-recognized program ComEd today announced that hundreds of thousands of customers have saved a total of $9 billion on their energy bills through the company’s Energy Efficiency program. The program, which launched in 2008 and is now one of the largest in the nation, also received an ENERGY STAR® Partner of the Year—Sustained Excellence Award, the highest level of recognition from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), for the 12th year in a row. “ComEd’s commitment to providing safe, reliable and affordable energy includes offering customers tools to help them manage their energy use as a way to save money and the environment,” said Melissa Washington, ComEd’s Chief Customer Officer and Senior Vice President of Customer Operations and Strategic Initiatives. “It’s an honor to be recognized by the EPA for efforts that help individuals and organizations redirect funds to areas that are lifting up families and communities.” ComEd’s announcements were made at Association House, a community-based organization in Chicago’s Humboldt Park neighborhood, which leveraged ComEd EE incentives to install more than 1,600 energy-efficient lights.
