Daddy Andre Criticizes UNMF Again, Calls It a Copy of Swedish Performing Rights Society (Video)

Producer and artist Daddy Andre has taken a public swipe at the Uganda National Musicians’ Federation (UNMF), likening it to a mere imitation of the Swedish Performing Rights Society. Andre also expressed his dissatisfaction with Eddy Kenzo, the Federation’s president, while surprisingly praising Bebe Cool.
In his criticism, Andre questioned Kenzo’s ability to lead the Federation, citing a lack of academic qualifications. “I’m not jealous of Kenzo, as some fans suggest. I’m simply analyzing the situation as I see it,” Andre stated during an interview with BigEye.ug.
The artist went on to highlight his past collaborations with Kenzo, including producing some of Kenzo’s hit songs.

“I used to team up with him, and even his last hit song came from me. There’s nothing envious to feel about him. But the truth is, Eddy Kenzo started the Federation himself, not us, so they [the government] used us,” Andre explained.
According to Andre, the Federation has veered off its intended purpose. Initially, artists were assured that the UNMF would be a non-political entity focusing on amending Uganda’s copyright laws.
