Daphne Ampire Karema, the celebrated film maker electrified audiences as she unveiled her latest masterpiece, the TV series “Borders.”. With over a decade of experience in the film industry, Karema’s premiere at Motiv Bugolobi marked a significant moment in her ambitious career. “Borders” is a 15-episode mini-series that delves into the intricacies of life within an African Jewel Dance Troop, portraying their daily struggles as both artists and individuals. Karema’s storytelling shines through as the series weaves together narratives in English, Luganda, and Swahili, providing viewers with a rich cultural exploration. Celebrated Filmmaker Daphne Ampire Karema unveils “Borders” During the premiere, Karema expressed gratitude to organizations like UCC and DSTV for their financial support, acknowledging the pivotal role such investments play in enhancing the quality of cinematic output. Just as we export coffee, we have the opportunity to export our movies and share our ideals with the rest of the world. It’s worth noting that theproduction of this film directly employed around 300 individuals, with an additional 200 benefiting indirectly.
