National Green Party (NGP) Leader and community activist Andre “Pancho” de Caires has reacted to the reelection of Donald Trump as United States President.
The 45th and now 47th President defeated Democratic opponent Kamala Harris in Tuesday’s election by 69 electoral votes, placing him back in control of the world’s largest economy and the most advanced and globally powerful military.
“It was no surprise to me that Mr. Trump won, I actually won a bet. I do a lot of research, I follow a lot of politics from all over the country,” de Caires said in an interview with St. Lucia Times. “In different podcasts, I saw a shift in tone by the average American, so months ago I felt that the tide was definitely turning, and he did it. I believe that the Democrats’ vote agenda was too far left for the moderate Republican and the moderate Democrats.”
Among the key talking points for de Caires and the Green Party movement is the elimination of war globally.
