The disconcerting reality is that their effectiveness is markedly limited. Their diminished influence is visible, as they find themselves marginalized in Congress, the executive branch, and the Supreme Court. Worryingly, several Democratic leaders appear to misinterpret the ramifications of their 2024 challenges. Instead of adapting to contemporary political landscapes, they seem to retreat to antiquated strategies. In light of Trump’s unyielding attacks on constitutional tenets, relying solely on a cautious stance is naively insufficient. Not all forms of opposition to Trump’s anti-democratic maneuvers should solely focus on appealing to swing voters' electoral ambitions. This frustration came to the forefront after Trump’s latest address, during which Texas Rep. Al Green voiced his objections to proposed Medicaid cuts and was consequently removed from the chamber.
