Denzel Washington is openly discussing his perspective on the Oscars. In a recent chat on “Jake’s Takes,” the actor, who enjoys nine nominations and two victories, emphasized that accolades have never influenced his career decisions. “I don’t do it for Oscars. I don’t care about that kind of stuff,” Washington stated. He reflected on his extensive career, mentioning instances where he won when perhaps he shouldn't have, and vice versa. “Man gives the award. God gives the reward,” he expressed. Washington admits he’s “not that interested in Oscars.” When queried about the location of his awards, he humorously remarked, “Next to the other one. I’m not bragging! Just stating my feelings. On my last day, [Oscars] aren’t going to do me a bit of good.” Earlier this year, he was considered snubbed for his role in Gladiator II but remarked with sarcasm about it. Currently, he is promoting his forthcoming film, Highest 2 Lowest, premiering in select theaters on August 15 and streaming on Apple TV+ starting September 5.
