Detroit’s Own Tony Award Nominee Dominique Morisseau to Keynote Inaugural Detroit Impact Arts Conference

This is a unique opportunity for you to engage with and contribute to the vibrant Detroit arts community. The conference, spanning over three days starting on Monday, June 24, will feature a range of workshops, panels, and discussions designed to involve and strengthen the community. The 3-day conference precedes the 4th Annual Obsidian Theatre Festival (OTF), scheduled from Thursday, June 27, to Sunday, June 30. The inaugural conference theme is “Amplifying Our Stories,” focusing on the power of storytelling and sharing experiences. The conference keynote speaker is Dominique Morisseau, a Detroit native who is an award-winning playwright, Tony Nominee, MacArthur Fellow, and Executive Artistic Producer of Detroit Public Theatre. Her keynote address is scheduled to close out the first day of the conference on Monday, June 24, at 5 p.m. IMPACT aims to empower and support individual artists, arts organizations, community partners, and funders in Detroit.
