A Florida man has been arrested after his 4-year-old autistic child was found wandering without clothing on an interstate while he delivered for Uber Eats. Jeremy Jason Rouse, 36, is facing charges of child abuse without serious bodily harm. According to the Orlando Sentinel, Altamonte Springs police received a report about an unattended child on I-4 near State Road 436 just before 11 p.m. on October 16. An officer witnessed the child heading towards the onramp, requiring assistance from a nearby bystander. Once safely secured in a police vehicle, officers noted that the child, who was nonverbal, likely has autism. The report did not disclose further details about the child's age or gender. Shortly later, connecting the child to a missing-person case, authorities reunited the child with the mother at a Walgreens. She stated she had fallen asleep while Rouse continued making deliveries. Authorities have indicated the possibility of child abuse and perjury charges against the mother as well.
