On February 25, Northwestern University premiered a documentary spotlighting Black women faculty's journeys. Hearing Silences chronicles their history, starting with Joyce Hughes, the first Black woman tenured at Northwestern. Ava Greenwell and Diana Kotzin spearheaded the project, creating an impactful archive. “It’s a lasting gift,” Dr. Greenwell said.
