‘Drive Safely’ – SLFS Renews Appeal After Dennery Collision

Following a motor vehicle collision (MVC) in Morne Panache, Dennery, the Saint Lucia Fire Service (SLFS) is renewing calls for road users to prioritise safety, focus and ‘drive safely’.
The accident on Wednesday involved a thirty-eight-year-old motorcyclist and a minibus, highlighting the ongoing risks on Saint Lucia’s roads.
Emergency personnel, arriving at the scene after responding at 7:50 pm, found the man lying on the ground with multiple injuries.
Firefighters administered on-site treatment before transporting him to a medical facility for advanced care. The minibus driver, who appeared uninjured, declined medical attention.
Following the incident, the SLFS urged all road users to adopt safer practices to prevent accidents and protect lives.
As the holiday season approaches, a time often marked by increased travel, the SLFS has called on the public to redouble efforts to stay vigilant and cautious behind the wheel.
“Avoid distractions such as texting and using your phone, obey the speed limits, use your turn signals, and maintain a safe following distance. Remember, your attention can save lives yours and others on the road. Drive safely,” the Fire Service emphasised.
