A taxi driver escaped unhurt after a fire in his vehicle’s engine compartment on Thursday in Soufriere. The Soufriere fire station responded after learning of the incident at about 9:30 am. The driver was the sole occupant of the vehicle. According to reports, he saw smoke emanating from the engine compartment and pulled over at Stonefield View Point.
