Empowering the Next Generation of Voters: Civic Engagement in Action

New Orleans Agenda Community organizations are proud to lead a dynamic, impactful effort this election season, focused on voter registration, education, and mobilization. Together, we are empowering young people to make their voices heard by helping students register to vote and get to the polls. This initiative is more than a one-time event; it’s about instilling a lifelong commitment to civic engagement, teaching the value of informed voting and active community participation. By equipping young people with the tools and knowledge to shape their future, collectively we are laying the foundation for a stronger democracy and a legacy of engaged citizens. On Tuesday, October 22, 2024, 100 students from Orleans Parish High Schools cast their ballots in early voting, supported by local community organizations. This wave of enthusiasm continued on Friday, October 25, 2024, with a high-energy Voices of Future Leaders Voting Rally: Your Voice Your Vote at New Orleans City Hall, celebrating an additional 150 students who voted for the first time.
