In honor of National Cervical Cancer Awareness Month in January, Equal Hope will present its 3rd Annual “Teal Talk” Health & Resource Fair on Thursday, Jan. 23, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., at the Humboldt Park Field House, 1440 N. Humboldt Blvd., Chicago 60647. A Chicago-based 501(c)(3) organization, Equal Hope is dedicated to saving lives by eliminating inequities in the treatment of breast, cervical and other cancers by connecting uninsured and underinsured patients to high-quality preventative care, screening, diagnostics, and treatment. The organization has partnered with the Humboldt Park Field House to bring healthcare education, resources, activities and food to the community. Teal is the color that represents cervical cancer awareness. “Our message is simple. Cervical cancer is almost 100 percent preventable,” said Equal Hope Chief Executive Officer Dr. Paris Thomas. “Our goal is to help women get vaccinated, screened and treated so we can eradicate cervical cancer,” she said.
