Excellers pulled away for victory, winning four of the 10 relays and topping the point standings at Friday’s Dame Pearlette Louisy Primary School Track and Field Championships. The red house ended with 459 points at the Daren Sammy Cricket Ground, comfortably ahead of Achievers (395) in second, Visioneers (359) third, and Challengers (318) fourth. The winning house got a winning performance from Ethan Ramdatt, who ran 25.4 seconds for the 150m, placing third in the 60m with a 9.7-second run to top the Under-9 boys’ standings. Zayhanne Louis of Excellers and Hayley Alexander of Achievers shared the trophy for the top Under-9 girl. Alexander won the 60m in 10.1 seconds, Louis the 150m in 27.2, each claiming individual silver medals as well. Lu-Marie Ottley of Excellers swept the sprint events in the Under-11 girls, as did Avary Maryatt of Visioneers in the Under-11 boys. Ottley ran the 150m in 24.4, and the 80m in 12.6, and Maryat broke the tape in 21.2 and 11.2. The Under-13 girls produced another shared result.
