The conversation was sparked when Marion Trish Mutesi took to X (formerly Twitter) to criticize Minister Phiona Nyamutoro for serving juice to her fiancé, popular musician Eddy Kenzo, and his guest, fellow artist Alien Skin.
Mutesi’s post expressed her disdain for Nyamutoro’s actions, questioning how a well-educated and accomplished woman like Nyamutoro could marry an “uneducated” man and then serve him:
“I really pity some women. How on earth can a whole minister and well-spoken woman like Nyamutoro wake up one day, marry an uneducated man, and also go ahead and serve him? Like, how? These things we shouldn’t allow as women. No, no.“
Mutesi’s comments quickly gained traction, igniting a social media storm as users weighed in on both sides of the debate.
