The past several months have been revealing for many individuals. The current administration, under the leadership of 47, has caused significant disruption through executive orders and governmental budget cuts. Intriguingly, 47, a convicted felon, continues to have the opportunity to run for President, emerge victorious, and occupy the office. This paradox has led to frustration among some Black men who have faced removal from positions due to drug charges from two decades ago, prompting critical reflection on our current trajectory.A significant factor contributing to this situation is the lack of commitment to actively dismantling White supremacy and recognizing its manifestations in daily life, such as prioritizing performative gestures and individualism over substantive change. For example, as commitments to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Access, and Justice (DEIAJ) wane, many have begun to reconsider their political affiliations. This collective action, reminiscent of Black women’s efforts to rest and resist, highlights a growing awareness that the traditional two-party system has not served the interests of Black individuals. Many are exploring alternatives, including the Independent and New Afrikan parties, which champion self-determination and a radical restructuring of social systems.
