The FBI confirmed on Friday that they were carrying out a court-authorized action at Dolton Village Hall.& An FBI spokesperson stated that agents were engaged in law enforcement activity in the area as authorized by the court. Former Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot was hired by the Dolton Village Board to investigate allegations of corruption and theft by Mayor Tiffany Henyard. Henyard vetoed the board’s request for a federal investigation into her conduct. Lightfoot’s tasks include uncovering millions in unpaid bills in Dolton and examining a village-funded trip to Las Vegas taken by Henyard, several trustees, and village employees last year. Additionally, Henyard faces accusations of wrongful termination from three former employees who refused to engage in political work for her.
