Brooklyn, NY — As Juneteenth nears, the Black Homeowners Preservation Coalition urges elected representatives to align with Black families and seniors whose homes and generational wealth have been unjustly seized through rampant deed theft. On Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at 12:00 PM, the coalition will host a press conference and rally outside Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez's office, located at 350 Jay Street, Brooklyn, NY 11201. Attorney S. Felix Ngati, representing several families in their battle to recover their stolen homes, will address the gathering, pressing for stringent action against all perpetrators involved in deed theft. “We demand justice for everyone, not just a select few. If you can prosecute Solny, you must also pursue the others. Deed theft is a crime—there’s no statute of limitations,” Ngati asserted. Victim-turned-activist Rachel Cyprien likens this crisis to a modern-day Tulsa, asserting, “They are robbing our legacy like in Greenwood.
