Five white men are set to appear in court today facing serious felony charges related to the assault of a Black man at a bar in Indiana last month. Initially, six individuals were arrested after the violent incident on May 30 at Pike's Pub in Fort Wayne, which resulted in the hospitalization of James Simmons. One suspect, however, successfully demonstrated his non-involvement, leading to the dismissal of his charges.The brutal attack, which was widely circulated on social media, shows several white men attacking Simmons while using racial slurs. The FBI is now aiding the ongoing investigation. The charges against the five remaining suspects include felony battery causing severe bodily harm and felony criminal recklessness.
