Florita Hits the Right Notes to Top Canaries Sports

The Canaries Infant and Primary Schools held its annual track and field meet Friday last at the Soufrière Stadium, with scores of talented young athletes on show. While Parquez was determined not to finish in last position, Joan Paul was set on reclaiming the crown from defending champion Florita. In the end, Florita held on to the title with 521 points, ahead of Joan Paul 452, and Parquez 383.
The Under-7 victrix ludorum was Cyra St Martin of Parquez, and the victor Ludorum was Justice Longville of Florita. In the Under-9 category, Amilla Albert of Joan Paul was the most outstanding female athlete. Ihknaton Hippolyte of Florita topped the boys.
Dreammer Longville won the Under-11 girls for Florita, and Jahdai Atticot took the boys’ title for Parquez. Among the Under-13’s, Florita’s Kayla Toussaint captured the victrix ludorum title. Joan Paul runner Kem Deterville emerged as victor ludorum.
The road race winners included the Florita duo of Ken Alexander among the boys and Kerzara Leo among the girls for Canaries Infant, along with Kem Deterville of Joan Paul and Dreammer Longville of Florita for Canaries Primary School.
