Floyd L. Wormley, Jr. Appointed Provost of Texas Christian University

After one year of service as interim provost, Floyd L. Wormley, Jr. has been named the permanent provost and vice chancellor of academic affairs at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth. His official appointment is effective January 1.
Dr. Wormley joined the Texas Christian University community in 2019 as the associate provost for research and dean of graduate studies. He has a robust background in higher education, including experience in both administrative and academic spheres. Prior to TCU, he held several roles at the University of Texas at San Antonio, including associate dean for research and graduate studies for the College of Sciences, associate program director for the UTSA Research Centers in Minority Institutions Program, and associate director of the South Texas Center for Emerging Infectious Diseases.
“TCU has been my home for nearly six years, and I am thrilled to be able to build upon the academic excellence, important scholarship, and creative activity already in progress,” said Dr. Wormley. “It is an honor to work closely with our esteemed faculty, our dedicated staff, our students, our board of trustees, and my colleagues as we embark on this next chapter for our incredible university.”
