Four African Americans Hired to University Administrative Positions

Iris A. Elijah was named deputy general counsel at Florida A&M University. Elijah was an associate general counsel at Florida International University in Miami for five years. Before that, she was an assistant general counsel for the Florida Board of Governors. Elijah earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of South Florida. She holds a juris doctorate from Florida International University. Marques D. Graham is the new director of band programs at Wiley University in Marshall, Texas. He will lead the newly formed The Marching Grandioso and other band programs. Graham is the former band director at Riverside High School in Jacksonville, Florida. Earlier in his career, Graham served as director of bands and was a faculty member at Edward Waters University in Jacksonville for 14 years. Graham holds a bachelor’s degree in music education and a master’s degree in music from South Carolina State University. ZeNai Brooks was appointed chief financial officer and executive vice president of finance and administration at Martin University in Indianapolis. For the past 13 years, Brooks led the finance and operations functions for a Fortune 200 Company Foundation, concentrating on non-profit audit and consulting work.
