Tragic Incident: Young Boy, Age Four, Suspected Drowning Death in Gros Islet

A tragic incident unfolded on Sunday as four-year-old Ryhim Serville from Marina Road, Gros Islet, lost his life in an apparent drowning, according to police authorities. The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force revealed that the young boy had been playing along the shoreline of Gros Islet beach when the unfortunate event occurred. Emergency services received an alert about the situation around 4 p.m. Subsequently, Serville was transported in a private vehicle to the Gros Islet Polyclinic, then later transferred by ambulance to the Owen King EU Hospital, where he was declared deceased by medical personnel. In an unrelated development, early Monday saw reports concerning two men presumed missing at sea in Micoud, yet the Marine Unit of the RSLPF confirmed that both men had returned home safely.
