White Neighbor’s Honesty Sends Michigan Man To Jail For Racist Assault And Hate Filled Disturbance

A resident of Michigan will face a year in prison due to a violent, racially charged incident involving several Black neighbors this past summer.Martin Sitto, aged 43, entered a no contest plea to multiple felony charges related to the attack, including a five-year felony for committing a hate crime through the use of force, as well as assaulting a police officer, assault and battery, and trespassing.The altercation unfolded on June 29 in a neighborhood in Hazel Park, Michigan. Authorities were summoned to the area twice that day in response to Sitto’s aggressive behavior.Witnesses reported that Sitto was physically confronting a Black woman, while also launching verbal assaults. After being instructed to vacate the property, he allegedly escalated his hostility, using racial epithets and threatening behavior towards multiple residents.On October 30, a judge imposed a sentence of one year of imprisonment along with three years of probation, mandating participation in a specialized drug treatment program to address ongoing substance abuse and mental health issues.
