Group of doctors leading group working to erase maternal care for Black women in US

Black women are three times more likely to die from a pregnancy-related cause than white women, according to the CDC. CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A Charlotte panel made up of doctors, midwives, doulas, and mental health experts will tackle the topic of Black maternal health care Tuesday as health officials seek solutions for women who are pregnant and need prenatal care.  Black women are three times more likely to die from a pregnancy-related cause than white women, according to the CDC.
