The Guyana Defence Force (GDF) has reported that search and rescue teams have ‘positively identified’ where a Bell 412 army helicopter went down on Wednesday. Seven individuals were aboard the aircraft. An update on the GDF Facebook page said search and rescue teams had reported positive signs of life at the scene. According to the update, troops would undertake a rappelling exercise to reach the exact location. They had to delay an earlier attempt due to inclement weather. The Bell helicopter was flying military officials on a mission to visit troops on Guyana’s western border when it disappeared. Headline photo: A Bell 412 helicopter in flight.
