Harlem's Studio Museum: Exclusive Highlights from Its Debut Exhibitions and Installations

HARLEM, NEW YORK, NY, June 17, 2025 – The Studio Museum in Harlem has revealed fresh insights regarding the momentous exhibitions, commemorative installations, and celebrated artist commissions that will inaugurate its new facility this fall, with more announcements expected in the approaching months. The Museum will launch with a broad display of works by Tom Lloyd, the trailblazing artist prominently featured in the Museum’s first exhibition in 1968. Additionally, a rotating exhibition from its distinguished permanent collection will be showcased. Highlighted inaugural exhibitions will encompass archival photographs encapsulating the institution’s fifty-six-year heritage, an innovative presentation featuring new works on paper created by over one hundred past Artist-in-Residence alumni, and brand-new site-specific commissions from notable artists such as Camille Norment and Kapwani Kiwanga.
