A Pennsylvania man finds himself facing homicide allegations after authorities claim he shot his ex-girlfriend fatally in front of their infant son. Adam Makowka, 27, was apprehended in connection with the deadly shooting of 22-year-old Jerkara Battle on July 22 in Allentown, over 50 miles from Philadelphia.Details from court filings shared by Lehigh Valley Live indicate that Makowka was armed with an AR-15 when he accessed Battle's apartment via a fire escape. Inside her home, he allegedly opened fire while Battle, her three-month-old son, and another man were present in a bedroom. Although the other man attempted to seize control of the rifle, Makowka discharged all rounds. Shell casings were later discovered in the bedroom, alongside his sweatshirt and rifle case on the roof. Following the shooting, Makowka fled and was captured 60 miles away in Delaware County. Experts emphasize the severity of the case, highlighting the ongoing investigation by local authorities.
