William Mundine, 85, died after being attacked by three dogs that entered the backyard of his Indianapolis home, per People. The dogs initially tried to attack Mundine’s wife, Betty. When Betty ran inside their home to escape the dogs, Mundine came out to “try to shoo them away,” according to his granddaughter, Holly Watkins. “Two pit bulls, I guess, they attacked him,” Watkins said. Mundine was found with multiple dog bites and taken to a local hospital in critical condition. “It was just horrifying, scary. I’ve never seen him like that,” Mundine’s granddaughter said. “I will never forget those cries.” According to reports, an Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) officer shot at one of the dogs to stop the attack. Indianapolis Animal Control (IACS) secured the dog in a stable condition. Animal control also captured the second dog. Authorities were still looking for the third dog as of Tuesday (January 30).
