Health In Her HUE Raises $3M To Strengthen Efforts To Reduce Racial Health Disparities For Black Women

A digital health application created by Black women and for Black women has raised $3 million. Health In Her HUE, established in 2018 by Ashlee Wisdom and Eddwina Bright, who is no longer with the company, is intended to connect Black women and women of color “to culturally competent and sensitive healthcare providers,” its website mentions. “Our overall vision is to be the first touch point for Black women and women of color when it comes to their health,” Wisdom previously told AFROTECH. “And so what that actually means is that if a woman has a question related to her health, her first instinct isn’t going to WebMD or Google, but it’s Health in Her HUE’s content and resource library where she can find videos and articles on that particular condition.” At the time of this writing, Health In Her HUE has 13,000 members who have access to community, more than 1,300 diverse providers across 60 specialities, and educational health content. Now, the platform is poised for further growth that will include creating new programs and products, while investing in talent.
