Highly acclaimed conductor joins Cincinnati Youth Choir

The Cincinnati Youth Choir, Ensemble in Residence (CYC) at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM) announces that Dr. Anthony Trecek-King will serve as the program’s artist-in-residence for its 32nd season. Dr Trecek-King will lead the program with a new vision for the future. With support from the current CYC team, Dr. Trecek-King will help create artistic goals, creative performances and collaborations, and unique programming that will launch CCM’s resident ensemble into the future of choral music.
Dr. Anthony Trecek-King is a highly acclaimed choral conductor, scholar, pedagogue and media personality with a career spanning over 20 years. He has a rich history with the Cincinnati Youth Choir having engaged in short, creative residencies with the choristers and providing board training focused on access, diversity, equity and inclusion (ADEI) since 2018.
He actively engaged CYC singers during the pandemic, offering CYC sponsored courses in sight-singing. “The students and conductors have embraced Anthony as part of the CYC team,” said Robyn Lana, founder and current artistic director. “He is an outstanding pedagogue who provides nurturing instruction of the highest caliber creating an open and welcoming environment where all grow and experience success....
