$25K Raised For Chicago Mom Who Plans To Take Parents Of Attackers To Court

A Chicago mother, Corshawnda Hatter, intends to file charges against the parents of the children who brutally assaulted her and her nine-year-old son. Hatter, along with her son, sustained serious injuries in the incident, which unfolded on a sidewalk near an elementary school while her six-year-old daughter witnessed the attack. Describing her feelings of helplessness during the assault, Hatter recounted, “I couldn’t get up myself. I couldn’t do nothing.” The shocking event was captured on cellphone footage that quickly went viral, igniting outrage in the local community. Following the attack, Hatter addressed a rally outside Orville Bright Elementary School, where she raised previous concerns regarding bullying towards her son. After the incident, her children were transferred to a new school, and therapy sessions are being arranged. A GoFundMe launched by Hatter has successfully gathered over $25,000 to aid her family.
