A 21-year-old college student from Pennsylvania is confronting attempts of homicide charges after an incident involving a police officer on October 24 in Plymouth Township. Dalton Lee Janiczek allegedly ran over an officer on three occasions before fleeing the scene and ultimately colliding head-on with a police cruiser on the highway. The confrontation began when an officer attempted to halt a white Mercedes G-Wagon, which then sped off erratically, crossing a concrete barrier. Approximately an hour later, authorities located the vehicle at a local hotel. When an officer posted behind the car and engaged his emergency lights, Janiczek reportedly reversed, striking the police cruiser multiple times. After the officer exited the vehicle and instructed Janiczek to stop, he accelerated toward the officer, knocking him down. While the officer was immobilized, Janiczek allegedly circled the parking lot, running over him three times before fleeing, leading to a brief chase that resulted in another collision with a police vehicle. Both injured officers were hospitalized, one undergoing emergency surgery. Janiczek remains incarcerated without bond, facing serious felony charges.
