DJ Spinderella, the former DJ of the iconic ‘90s hip-hop group Salt-N-Pepa, recently shared a surprising revelation about the group’s hit song “Push It” and the backlash they faced during its early performances. In a candid interview on the popular podcast “Drink Champs,” Spinderella recalled how the group was once threatened with arrest if they performed the catchy track at certain venues, due to misconceptions about the song’s lyrics. Speaking on the podcast, Spinderella explained that venue executives misunderstood the song’s lyrics, believing they were sexually explicit. “It was not a sexual song,” she said. “We were literally talking about dancing on the dance floor.
