South Carolina Gamecocks Coach Travian Robertson and Wife Take Legal Action Against Driver's Estate

A former NFL athlete and college football coach is pursuing legal action against the estate of the alleged intoxicated driver after a grave car crash last month. Travian Robertson, 36, a past defensive lineman for the Atlanta Falcons and current defensive line coach at the University of South Carolina, sustained critical injuries in a direct collision on August 22. His attorney reports that he has undergone five operations for his “severe and life-altering injuries."In a civil suit filed in Richland County, South Carolina, Robertson and his spouse, Kettiany, are seeking both compensatory and punitive damages from the estate of the deceased driver, Kelly Marie Johnson, 35. The couple contends that Johnson’s reckless behavior resulted in “physical harm, emotional distress, lost wages, and other significant issues.”As Robertson recuperates, he remains involved with his team, recently overseeing practice despite his challenges. His commitment to recovery highlights both his resilience and dedication to his family and career during this trying time.
