Rick Brunson, Jalen Brunson‘s father, was recently the host of the “Roommates Show.” The Brunsons discussed Hart and Jalen’s one-on-one matches after discussing their early years.
Co-host Matt Hillman questioned Rick if their experiences would align after bringing up JB’s discussion of the first time he defeated his father in a one-on-one match. The 52-year-old retorted, “They definitely don’t.” “I don’t know if he ever beat me, to be honest.”
Josh and Jalen were both amused by the typical parental response. He wasn’t a scrub himself, though, to be fair to Rick.
It is easy to see the 52-year-old defeating his All-NBA son when he was younger because he played nine seasons of NBA basketball and a few years in international leagues. Rick would acknowledge, though, that he didn’t defeat Jalen because of his skill.

He revealed that throughout their one-on-one matches, his kid seldom ever kept score. Brunson Sr., the only scorekeeper for the two, admitted to cheating when JB was unable to recall the scores.
