Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago – The Dr. Katherine Y. Brown (KYB) Leadership Academy a leadership development program with a mission to build the capacity for global leadership while also increasing awareness of pulmonary hypertension (PH) hosted its 2024 groundbreaking international conference in Trinidad and Tobago, marking a significant milestone with the launch of the 30th cohort of the KYB Leadership Academy program, exclusively comprised of thirty two (32) scholars who live in Trinidad. These scholars participated in a three month virtual training program, collectively completed hundreds of hours of community service, a capstone project, and culminated in an in person leadership experience this March. Twelve scholars from KYB Leadership Academy in Nashville, Tennessee flew in to contribute to this monumental event, which culminated in the training of 1,000 students in Trinidad and Tobago following the principles laid out in Dr. Brown’s inspirational book, “I Am Amazing.” “The conference not only served as an educational conference but also as a moment of collective impact and empowerment for participants.
