Kyle R. Williams has been named assistant vice president and dean of intercultural engagement at Oberlin College and Conservatory in Ohio. Dr. Williams comes to his new role from Emory University in Atlanta, where he served as special advisor to the senior vice president and dean of campus life. Throughout his career, he has held student affairs positions with several universities, including Oglethorpe University in Atlanta, Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri, and Texas A&M University-Commerce. In his work, he focuses on advocating for local communities through embedding justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion into the core of decision-making processes. A native of Cincinnati, Dr. Williams is a graduate of Otterbein University in Westerville, Ohio, where he majored in voice. He holds a master’s degree in higher education in student affairs from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia, and a doctorate in educational leadership in higher education from Texas A&M University-Commerce.
