A slew of celebrities and organizations are leaving X, formerly Twitter, following Donald Trump’s election win.
Since tech billionaire Elon Musk acquired Twitter in 2022, users dissatisfied with his leadership have been leaving the app and exploring other alternatives. Musk’s recent involvement in Trump’s 2024 presidential campaign has prompted a mass exodus from X. Earlier this week, Musk and entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy were appointed as leaders of Trump’s newly created Department of Government Efficiency.
Lizzo announced that she was joining Blue Sky, which was launched by Twitter founder Jack Dorsey, sharing a screenshot of her page on TikTok. Bluesky confirmed that it gained more than 700,000 new users in the week following the election.
“#thegreatdigitalmigration,” Lizzo wrote on TikTok.
“Wait… are we having fun on the internet again?” the singer added on Blue Sky.

In an Instagram video, Don Lemon also announced his departure from X and encouraged people to follow him on Blue Sky.
